Into The Unknown!

Dearest Readers, I’ve been putting off this post because I just didn’t have the mental fortitude to write it. I wasn’t ready for it to be real for a variety of reasons. Disclaimer before anyone freaks out, no one is dead or terribly I’ll and I’m not hatching anymore children, I just need a moment to vent.

On August 1st, after much trial and tribulation, I left the job that I thought would be my forever home and set off into the unknown. While the timing wasn’t great (it never is) I wasn’t happy and it showed in my mental health. With the love and support of my family and amazing Husband, (and the awesome resources for small businesses in Baton Rouge) I’ve started my own business.

You’re reading the words of the owner of Barnes Business Consulting, LLC!

This has been my dream for many years but I never felt ready until now. After over a decade of studying leadership, making mistakes, and having great successes, I’ve got the knowledge and experience to truly help other businesses and leaders thrive.

While there are so many unknowns, and a lot to stress about, I’m also really excited about this stage of my life. I know that God puts opportunities in front of us when we’re ready and I’m ready to tackle this head-on.

My kids are already happy about it, as this means they get more time with a chill Mom and not a stressed Mom. I’ve also started getting pretty creative packing their lunches to try and save us money and keep myself from going crazy while I handle startup. (More on that later.) My Husband is enjoying having me around more (I’m working out of his office). I’ve taken taken up fermenting vegetables and making jugs of kombucha. (More on that later too!) I’ve started reading books again in my free time (shout out to our bad ass library system for helping me to be a low-cost book worm) and going to Mass on Friday mornings.

I guess the moral of the story is that sometimes you have to live through a bad situation in order to level up. Onward and Upward my Dears!

Oh and don’t forget, if you need business or leadership coaching, holla at ya girl! 😉

I’m just a first time Mom with 3 bonus kids, set of twins, 2 bad dogs, and a full time job who’s trying to get through parenthood and life without completely screwing it up.
